Eating pasta in a low GI diet might help you lose weight

Many Americans are seeking ways to lose weight using a variety of methods, diets and exercise.

A new study by BMJ looks into eating pasta in a low glycemic index diet and its effect on weight, body mass index (BMI) and other measures of obesity.

Low-glycemic index diets include foods that don’t cause blood sugar levels to spike.

Foods that are considered low-glycemic index include nuts, beans, oatmeal and most fruits.

The study compared 32 different trials and analyzed the data of the patient’s dietary patterns and measures of obesity.

The result of the study reveal that those who eat pasta in context of a low-glycemic had reduced body weight than those who ate a high-glycemic index diet.

The study also addressed the fact that although there are many different types of pastas available, different variations of pastas will still have a lower glycemic response than white bread.

Questions: Would you consider adopting a low-glycemic index diet? What is your favorite pasta? Did this study confuse you or encouraged to try low-index diet?
