Visit the Great Outdoors in Southwest America

If you live in Southwest America or are vacationing here, you are surrounded by an abundance of natural space and hikes! Here are some of my favorite natural places to visit in the Southwest.

5. Laguna Beach and Newport Beach

Laguna Beach and Newport Beach are two areas I like to hit in the same day. In Newport, enjoy walking around Crystal Cove, a beach town stuck in the 1960s. In Laguna, walk along the sand at one of California’s most beautiful beaches- Thousand Steps Beach!

4. Salvation Mountain

Salvation Mountain is an enormous, painted rock in the middle of the desert. Sounds out there, but playing in the dunes and having a picnic is an incredibly fun day trip.

3. Sedona, Arizona

Sedona is a quaint town just below Flagstaff, Arizona. I cannot think of any place more feel-good (hippie crystal shops are fun places to visit in Sedona), or any place with more astonishing, panoramic views of nature at its most beautiful. If you are a somewhat avid hiker, hike Bear Mountain to see Sedona from one of its highest points.

2. Yosemite National Park

Not necessarily in Southern California, but more than worth the trip, Yosemite is too beautiful and inspiring for words. These pictures alone should convince you to go.

1. Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park

These two national parks are the epitome of the Southwest, with the most grandiose, incredible red rock sculptures. Walking through both parks will make you feel your most connected to nature, if not that you are starring in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
